| "assemblage" is a lighthearted play with the the design process of making a book. As the paper pages were made the layered image being contructed was achieved using wet sheet collage. The resulting image is a conceptual represention of a design process, that of a puzzle which can only be reconstructed into its primary shape one way. The iregular shapes that make the image could only be put together as they were made. Illusions are not tied to this phenomenon. and contrasting the irregular shapes on the left pages of the book are images of the regular shapes of a common puzzle on the right pages of the book. A puzzle that by design can only be reconstructed into its primary shape one way. | |
