William Blake never published, this his longest and most ambitious epic poem, 'Vala or The Four Zoas'. It exists only in its handwritten manuscript. This volume is the first publication of the complete work.
Of particular interest is that Blake wrote his manuscript on the rejected (proof) sheets from 'The Complaint and The Consolation; or Night Thoughts'.
